New Trailer For The Guilt Trip

Review For The Guilt Trip

Andrew [Rogen], who has invented an organic cleaning compound, pitches it to retailers in a succession of meetings across the country that have no grounding in any known reality.
Joe Morgenstern-Wall Street Journal

The Guilt Trip pairs Seth Rogen and Barbra Streisand in the hope, no doubt, that sparks will fly. They don't.
Peter Rainer-Christian Science Monitor

Rogen and Streisand are reasonably funny together, though Rogen, always best when he's angry, is crowded into the role of a well-mannered straight man.
J. R. Jones-Chicago Reader

To its detriment, The Guilt Trip opts to work gently on the heart rather than hard on the funny bone.
James Adams-Globe and Mail

A breezy, funny and warm road-trip comedy.
Richard Roeper-Richard Roeper.com

The Guilt Trip is clearly targeted at older audiences less than receptive to the crude jokes that made Seth Rogen famous.
Connie Ogle-Miami Herald

Rogen's deadpan misery meshes well with Streisand's oblivious idiocy, making the laughs roll in.
Phil Villarreal-COEDMagazine.com

On paper, it must have seemed like a solid idea
Bill Gibron-Film Racket

Contrived and mostly medicore, but may satisfy Streisand fans
Robert Denerstein-Movie Habit

It's all kvetch this and kvetch that, with few jokes or amusing encounters ...
Philip French-Observer [UK]

It never quite delivers juggernaut-sized laughs, but the sharp-tongued sparring between the two leads pops and fizzes throughout, with Streisand in particular showing she's still an intuitive and naturalistic comedian.
Terry Staunton-Radio Times

Streisand has lost little of her gawky, pesky touch in comedy, while Rogen knows just how to be the charmingly daft slob.
Derek Malcolm-This is London

Rogen plays the science nerd Andrew, who has just invented an organic cleaning product and is taking a cross-country trip to find a buyer. In a moment of weakness, he invites his meddling mother Joyce (Streisand).
Rich Cline-Contactmusic.com

Barbra's speed-yapping makes her mollycoddling mum Joyce even more annoying than she is supposed to be.
Grant Rollings-Sun Online

What we're left with is a bafflingly dull road movie. Maybe Alexander Payne could have done something with this.
Peter Bradshaw-Guardian [UK]

It is the makers who should feel guilty.
Nigel Andrews-Financial Times

Enjoyable mother-son road movie that swerves the potential potholes of broad or outrageous comedy in favour of an engaging, emotionally convincing and ultimately moving portrait of the central relationship ...
Matthew Turner-ViewLondon

It's been more than fifteen years since Barbra Streisand has taken a lead role in a movie...and after suffering this you can see why.
Tim Evans-Sky Movies

There are OK performances but the cast are better than this. Very occasionally it's vaguely amusing, but it's mostly just annoying or cringeworthy.
Roz Laws-Birmingham Post

Think of it as a Sunday drive, easy and breezy, with good company to pass the time.
Stella Papamichael-Digital Spy

Despite the odds, both stars strike a few sparks in Anne Fletcher's slight comedy.
Eddie Harrison-The List

You've seen this film already. That's how predictable it is...the film is surprisingly light on laughs.
Jim Schembri-3AW

Small stakes and consistently tame inclinations mark screenwriter Dan Fogelman's effort, which gives off an ambling vibe that would be more at home in an independent production.
Brent Simon-Screendaily

Only comes to life during a Texan steak-eating contest that has Babs ingest a mountain of meat.
Neil Smith-Total Film

Some actors you'd pay to watch read the phonebook; turns out it's worth paying to see Streisand eat a steak.
Alice Tynan-The Vine

New Trailer For The Story Of Luke

Review For The Story Of Luke

When it works, the film serves as a modest reminder that the challenges of autism may sometimes be no more daunting or fearsome than those that face anyone in search of an independent life.
Daniel M. Gold-New York Times

"The Story of Luke" is not a saga of epic proportions, but with a huge assist from Pucci's layered performance, takes a premise that could easily be movie-of-the-week sappy and finds a humanizing lightness.
Mark Olsen-Los Angeles Times

A feel-good story about an autistic man's quest for independence, The Story of Luke is a charming little film in need of a bit more grit.
Chuck Wilson-Village Voice

The first comedy gem of 2013.
Kirk Honeycutt-honeycuttshollywood.com

The outsized nature of their insensitivities is meant to reinforce the pain and humiliation from Luke's perspective, but it makes for a movie with an uneven tone.
Matthew Odam-Austin American-Statesman

A paraplegic ex-marine finds a new life on the distant planet of Pandora, only to find himself battling humankind alongside the planet's indigenous Na'vi race in this ambitious digital 3D sci-fi epic from Academy Award-winning Titanic director James Cameron. The film, which marks Cameron's first dramatic feature since 1997's Titanic, follows Jake Sully (Sam Worthington), a war veteran who gets called to the depths of space to pick up the job of his slain twin brother for the scientific arm of a megacorporation looking to mine the planet of Pandora for a valued ore. Unfortunately the biggest deposit of the prized substance lies underneath the home of the Na'vi, a ten-foot-tall, blue-skinned native tribe who have been at war with the security arm of the company, lead by Col. Miles Quaritch (Stephen Lang). Because of the planet's hostile atmosphere, humans have genetically grown half-alien/half-human bodies which they can jack their consciousnesses into and explore the world in. Since Jake's brother already had an incredibly expensive Avatar grown for him, he's able to connect with it using the same DNA code and experience first-hand the joys of Pandora while giving the scientific team, led by Grace Augustine (Sigourney Weaver) and Norm Spellman (Joel David Moore), some well-needed protection against the planet's more hostile forces. On a chance meeting after getting separated from his team, Jake's Avatar is rescued by Neytiri (Zoe Saldana), a Na'vi princess, who brings him into her tribe in order to give the humans a second chance at relating to this new environment. When word gets out of his increasing time with the alien species, Quaritch enlists Jake to do some reconnaissance for the company, as they'd like to persuade the tribe to move their home before taking more drastic measures to harness the treasure hidden below. Yet as Jake becomes one with the tribe and begins to understand the secrets of Pandora, his conscience is torn between his new adopted world and the wheelchair-bound one awaiting him when the psychic connection to his Avatar is broken. Soon battle lines are drawn and Jake needs to decide which side he will fight on when the time comes. The film was shot on the proprietary FUSION digital 3D cameras developed by Cameron in collaboration with Vince Pace, and offers a groundbreaking mix of live-action dramatic performances and computer-generated effects. The revolutionary motion-capture system created for the film allows the facial expressions of actors to be captured as a virtual camera system enables them to see what their computer-generated counterparts will be seeing in the film, and Peter Jackson's Oscar-winning Weta Digital visual-effects house supervises Avatar's complex special effects. ~ Jeremy Wheeler, Rovi

New Trailer For Avatar

Review For Avatar

Cameron's 'Avatar': Brainy & Beautiful
Joe Baltake-Passionate Moviegoer

The narrative would be ho-hum without the spectacle. But what spectacle! Avatar is dizzying, enveloping, vertiginous ... I ran out of adjectives an hour into its 161 minutes.
David Edelstein-New York Magazine

I had the feeling coming out of this movie that I haven't felt since maybe I was eleven years old in 1977 and I saw Star Wars for the first time.
A.O. Scott-At the Movies

It's a remote-control movie experience, a high-tech "wish you were here" scribbled on a very expensive postcard.
Stephanie Zacharek-Salon.com

The most-hyped movie of the year just about merits it.
Amy Biancolli-San Francisco Chronicle

Big money, big risk, pretty big reward. That's been his consistent pattern, and it's high time to give credit where credit is overdue: James Cameron delivers.
Rick Groen-Globe and Mail

Cameron's $300 million baby is nothing but a 5- and 10-cent snore.
Al Alexander-The Patriot Ledger

This sci-fi epic would be a masterpiece if judged solely on its technical merits.
Rob Humanick-Projection Booth

Cameron is flexing his creative muscles, but the film never overcomes the nagging feeling that he's also simply going through the motions.
Rob Humanick-Projection Booth

Piercing the hype, Avatar may not be a "game changer", but I'll be damned if the game didn't just get a hell of a lot more interesting from here on in.
Ali Gray-TheShiznit.co.uk

While it wasn't the most original narrative, it serves the film well, even if it was merely a template for Cameron to show us this gorgeous world and its landscapes.
Jeff Beck-Examiner.com

Planet Pandora's plant and animal life is done with a wonder that has been often absent from fiction screens.
Donald J. Levit-ReelTalk Movie Reviews

It's both wildly original and hauntingly familiar, like Dances With Wolves in a galaxy far, far away.
Neil Pond-American Profile

It is far too long and the romance is half-hearted. Still, you'd have to travel very far to feel so fully immersed in another world.
Stella Papamichael-Digital Spy

It's good. It should have been better.
Widgett Walls-Needcoffee.com

It may not change the world, but it'll certainly provide enjoyment to many millions of people all over it.
Mike Edwards-What Culture

As a fantasy epic, Avatar is an undeniable victory ... but outside of the narrow confines of immersion he's managed, it's also quite limited.
Joshua Starnes-ComingSoon.net

The nature scenes are nothing short of magical in this film.
James Plath-Movie Metropolis

Spiritually moving, visually daring and emotionally stirring, Avatar is classic storytelling at its very best.
R. L. Shaffer-IGN DVD

If you shoot for the moon and miss, it's a long way down. Now that Avatar has moved to the home video market, that plummet may have finally begun.
Rob Vaux-Sci-Fi Movie Page

"Avatar" looks amazing on Blu-ray. If the plot wasn't so pedestrian, it could have been a great film. Paul Chambers, CNN.
Paul Chambers-CNNRadio

Avatar looks more like a cartoon on the small screen than it did in theaters, but anyone who owns a Pixar film on video knows that isn't meant as a slam.
Ed Gonzalez-Slant Magazine

I did not like Avatar and I have no interest in any bonus features that prolong the agony of the 160 film.
Beth Accomando-KPBS.org

Watch and Stream Oz the Great and Powerful Movie with HD Format

Disney's fantastical adventure "Oz The Great and Powerful," directed by Sam Raimi, imagines the origins of L. Frank Baum's beloved wizard character. When Oscar Diggs (James Franco), a small-time circus magician with dubious ethics, is hurled away from dusty Kansas to the vibrant Land of Oz, he thinks he's hit the jackpot-fame and fortune are his for the taking-that is until he meets three witches, Theodora (Mila Kunis), Evanora (Rachel Weisz) and Glinda (Michelle Williams), who are not convinced he is the great wizard everyone's been expecting. Reluctantly drawn into the epic problems facing the Land of Oz and its inhabitants, Oscar must find out who is good and who is evil before it is too late. Putting his magical arts to use through illusion, ingenuity-and even a bit of wizardry-Oscar transforms himself not only into the great wizard but into a better man as well. When small-time magician Oscar Diggs (James Franco) pulls one flimflam too many, he finds himself hurled into the fantastical Land of Oz where he must somehow transform himself into the great wizard-and just maybe into a better man as well. -- (C) Walt Disney

New Trailer For Oz the Great and Powerful

Review For Oz the Great and Powerful

An imaginative mix of live-action and CGI that pays homage to the iconic images and timeless sense of wonder in the classic The Wizard of Oz without being too deferential.
James Berardinelli-ReelViews

Oz the Great and Powerful is entirely serviceable family entertainment. Problem is, serviceable doesn't quite cut it when you're talking about the magical land of Oz.
Randy Myers-San Jose Mercury News

Aside from a trio of witches that can hold its own with Eastwick's in the dishiness department, Oz the Great and Powerful is a peculiarly joyless occasion.
David Edelstein-New York Magazine

Let us take a moment to praise two great and surprisingly powerful characters: a winged monkey and a wee girl made out of china. Because so much human wonder resides in these two creations of make-up, puppetry, digital effects and lovely performances.
Lisa Kennedy-Denver Post

The new Oz falls short of the 1939 Oz in charm and innocence, and certainly in songs. But as family entertainment, it's hard to fault such a rapturous spectacle and astute, suspenseful piece of storytelling.
Tom Charity-CNN.com

Oz the Great and Powerful somehow manages to be both slavish to its hallowed template (when convenient) and completely tone-deaf to the magic that made it a one-of-a-kind cultural milestone.
Chris Vognar-Dallas Morning News

The funny, warm-hearted "Wizard of Oz" prequel "Oz the Great and Powerful" veers far enough from the Yellow Brick Road paved by the original film to avoid dangerous direct comparisons.
Carla Meyer-Sacramento Bee

It pushes its gospel of modern "magic" - one third science, one third show biz, one third motivational speech - with Disney Channel earnestness.
Margot Harrison-Seven Days

Raimi's 'Oz' is nothing more than a grand theft of a 74-year-old vision, thinly veiled in over-saturated colors and populated with action-figure friendly characters sure to set the Mouse's cash registers ringing.
Al Alexander-The Patriot Ledger

True...the odds were stacked against Raimi in his film that has some moments but hardly seems momentous.
Bruce Bennett-Spectrum (St. George, Utah)

big and splashy but tin-eared
Chris Barsanti-Film Racket

Looking backwards in more ways than one.
Cynthia Fuchs-PopMatters

Stunning visuals, some suprising plot twists, dreadfully mediocre dialogue delivered by a woefully miscast James Franco.
Marc Fennell-Triple J

Sam Raimi has managed to recapture the feel and charm of the original 'Wizard of Oz'... and that may be the greatest compliment of all.
Kevin A. Ranson-MovieCrypt.com

The script is the real problem, lacking in humor and wit (not to mention jaunty musical numbers) and emphasizing the type of sensory overload that seems to pass for family entertainment these days.
Todd Jorgenson-Cinemalogue.com

Raimi tries to go all in, but the update can't match the character of the original
Robert Denerstein-Movie Habit

There were things that offered promise... but one after the other, they blended into the blandness of the storytelling.
David Poland-Movie City News

That the female roles are the most memorable is intriguing since Oz the Great and Powerful is arguably at heart a broadside against male chauvinism
James Kendrick-Q Network Film Desk

It took courage to believe anything could and should be added to The Wizard of Oz. It took brains to create such a sumptuous fantasia with pixels and keyboard swipes. Now, if it only had a heart.
Steve Persall-Tampa Bay Times

When a movie is as beloved as The Wizard of Oz, making a prequel would seem a foolhardy enterprise. Put one foot on the Yellow Brick Road and you risk stepping on your viewers' memories and dreams. Yet Raimi rises to the challenge with dash and dazzle.
Jason Best-Movie Talk

Oz the Great and Powerful should probably have been titled Oz the so-so and Kind of Entertaining or Oz, At Least It's Better than The Wonderful Land of Oz.
Dan Lybarger-KC Active

You've got to love any movie that features an army of rollicking Munchkins getting halfway through a Danny Elfman song before, basically, they're told to shut up.
David 'Mad Dog' Bradley-Rip It Up

[Director Sam] Raimi fills every square centimetre of the frame with aggressively attractive images...Simply put, Oz is simply beautiful to behold.
Jim Schembri-3AW

It's Mila Kunis! And she's dressed like she took the wrong tornado on the way to F. Scott Fitzgerald.
Mark Ramsey-MovieJuice!

Oz The Great And Powerful is as good as it could be.
Matt Neal-The Standard

You know, its heart was in the right place.
